1066.0. "That's all Folks!" by MCIS2::WILSON (Is it 1996 yet?) Mon Jun 21 1993 14:52

Well folks, this is it. The day I feared would come, but hoped
never would.

I'm being TFSOed today. I've spent 4 of the best years of my
working life at DEC. Unfortunately, I've been here for 6 years,
and the last 2 years haven't been so great. In a way, it's a
relief, and I'm hoping to use this as a chance to get on with
things, and away from this madhouse we know as DEC. I won't
miss the confusion and working environment here, but one of the
few things I will miss is this conference.

I've enjoyed getting to know many of you, and participating in this
notes conference. I'm sure Rick Suter will ably continue to the
moderate the conference on his own, or possibly designate someone
else to help out. I hope to be at Rick Suter's Province Lake
"gumball" later on in July.

At this point I'm not sure what I'll be doing. I may be getting
away from this business altogether, and ideally would like to
own and operate my own business in the marine related field. A
move to Florida is not out of the question, where there's year
round work, sunshine, and warm weather.

At minimum, I will have more time to spend on my outboard motor
and boat sales and repair business, which I've been doing part time
for the last couple years. If you or any of your friends need any
work done on OMC motors, I'd appreciate you sending them my way!
I work cheap, and do make house calls. My home number is
603-673-3840. I also work part time in sales at Marine USA's
Amherst NH store, and will probably be spending more time there.
If you're looking for a new Bayliner, Bass Tracker, Nitro, Mastercraft,
or used boat, please stop by and see me. Or just stop by to say
hello if you're in the area. They're on the eastbound side of
route 101-A in Amherst, just before the intersection of route 101.
The number there is 603-673-0024.

Later,
Rick

    Rick,

There's life after DEC, probably a better one! :>)

Good luck to you, you'll probably hear from me over
the summer as my OMC is about ready for a tune-up,
glad to hear you make house/marina calls.

    You'll be missed,
    Jeanne

Sorry to hear Rick! I hope you find happiness after DEC.
With your knowledge of boats and motors, at least you have
some options, and maybe will end up in a better situation
after it's all said and done.

Thanks for all your help in tracking down parts and helping me keep
the sailing programs motors running. Stop by some saturday or sunday
and I will take you out for a sail.

Rick, I know it's probably hard to take but it's probably the best kick
in the a__ that you'll get in a long time. Maybe now you can follow
your dreams and combine work with what you enjoy best! I only wish I
had some talent outside of DEC which I could turn to!
    Best of luck!

Good luck, Rick. Without all your input on engines I know I would
have done some dumb things by now. Thanks for all your help.

Good luck, Rick. Thanks for all your inputs and boating/motor
knowledge that you added in this file. Also keeping Mr J.HC in line
:-). As Jeanne said,my OMC outboard will most likely need some TLC
in the future, so I'll keep your number handy. House calls, I thought
that it was a thing of the past but it a good excuse for a cold one
    :-).

    	Thanks again and Good Luck.

     Rick,
Sorry to hear the news. Not to worry though a guy with your
talent will have no problem doing what he likes best. I'll keep your
     number handy.

All the best, Rick. I know you'll find a positive side to this and end up doing
something you really want. Probably something marine-related that many of us
would rather be doing.

Good luck, and I hope we can keep in touch, if by no other means an occasional
gumball or a "Help my motor needs work!" :-)

...Roger...

P.S. FYI, the ol' 5.5hp Evinrude you fixed is running like a top this year!

Thanks for all the kind words. I got the "official word"
at 3:00 pm on Monday, and left immediately. I haven't
burned rubber like that in a long time, but it felt good.
    8^)

I've been taking it easy the last few days, trying to decide
what I want to do. It's nice... The *only* thing I've
missed so far is this notes file and the people in it. This
is very hard, logging in (and out) for the last time. Good
    luck to you all.

Again, give me a call at home if you need any outboard
service or advice. And if you see a strange looking 15'
polished aluminum Feathercraft "barrel stern" boat cruising
Lake Winnipesaukee this summer, wave me down! I also plan
to be anchored off to the side at the Weirs Beach wooden
boat show on July 31st. Give me a shout if you spot me.

Oh yeah, I have an offer from my neighbor Donmac, to let
me check in here occasionally through his account. So,
    like Arnold, I'll be back...

    Later,
    Rick
