1024.0. "California gets a visitor from the North east" by HYDRA::BURGESS (Water dependent) Mon Oct 19 1992 13:50

I (and several million others) will be going to InterOp in San
Francisco next week. I'll get bored with all the presentations (and "exhibits")
so I was wondering if someone would like to invite me to their local lake,
river, pond for a few after-convention PULLS ! preferrably through a slalom
course. My boss is going too, probably on the same flight, so I can't haul
all my water toys, wake boards, knee-boards, etc. - but I can probably bring
a ski along without getting too much static (-:

	Reg

PS	Early morning runs would be just as welcome (-:

It looks like Willi Ellemeier is close by at the World Class Water Ski
Center at the Steel Park resort on Lake Berryessa, Napa (wine country), I might
buy a lesson or two - anyone want to split an hour ?

BTW, what are water and air temperatures like out there at this time
of year ? Here in Mass most of us are into full wet suits, some are already
into dry suits. I don't want to haul what I won't need.

    Reg,
Sure I'll split an hour-or-two with you; Send me a plane ticket and
    I'll meet you out there. :^) :^)
The barefoot suit fits fine in the garment bag for those "business
trips". Unfortunately, I haven't been on any business trips (like
FLORIDA) in a couple of years. :^(

You gonna do the "potential ski-boat buyer-need a test ski routine at
a dealer" or you gonna be a *paying* customer..?

Doug_still *not* winterized, but drain plugs are pulled...

I have never been on Berryessa as I usally go to the lakes in the
gold country. If you have a wet suit I would suggest bringing it,.
but you may not need it.
I was at Lake Don Pedro last weekend and the water was fine without a
wetsuit . The air temp was in the mid 90's but it has cooled down
some .I would say it will be in the mid to upper 70's as a high.

(If you do go to Berryessa you will see the results of the 6 year
drought. Also report back if you go.)

1024.4One of the thousand DECies at InteropROGER::GAUDETBecause the Earth is 2/3 waterMon Nov 02 1992 12:4016
Reg...

Damn! I wish I had read this note earlier...I was at Interop last week. I
didn't see you (gee, what a surprise, eh?). Were you around the DEC booth in the
exhibit area at all? There were lots of people milling (read: loitering) around
there, so I could easily have bumped into you. Did you ski? Aw, man, I'm bummed
I didn't know you were going. I definitely would've brought my suit and hooked
up with you for a few runs.

For those who want to know, the weather was OK, temps in the upper 60's to low
70's, sunshine early in the week, rained on Thursday morning, sun broke out in
the afternoon, but it was cool (mid 60's only). I came back on Friday, but I
heard it was broken clouds and in the upper 60's. That's summer stuff for us
New England folk!
