| We docked our boat on Baboosic for several years. There are rocks
mostly in the Southern area of the lake (near Four Seasons Beach) & in
the coves (where the water is relatively shallow). We haven't docked
our boat there for 2 seasons now - but 2 yrs ago the slalom course was
there occassionally - mostly pre & post season. I don't know if they
still have public launching on the lake (it was on the Amherst side off
of Broadway), but if they do - you can expect caos on the weekends. I
would doubt that they would keep the course up if so! Oh yah, there is
also a rock near the middle of the lake. It is just south of the land
that juts out in the middle. It's usually marked - but not pre or post
season.
Another note on the lake... it's not very clean - but I know that
they're working on cleaning it up.
Good luck!

| Hi Sonia,
Fortunately, for us, there isn't a public launch! So, hopefully
the lake won't be as chaotic on weekends. I've pretty much
given up skiing after 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays
because of the traffic. That is why this course is submerged
on weekends, it was probably there during full season, but
not available. They raise it during the week. I hope they
put it in the same spot it was in last year, which is right
in front of the house I'm renting!
Someone told me the water is Class B. I've been skiing on
the Merrimack River, which is also Class B, meaning you can
swim and eat the fish you catch....not that I do either one
of those on the Merrimack!
Thanks....if you make it onto Baboosic Lake this year, stop
by the house that's got a Ski Nautique and Brown Baja at
it's docks.

| Hi Jeanne,
Our current boat (Baja) is a little big for Baboosic so we probably
won't be on the lake, but I go by the lake every day & live in
Merrimack. I'd be happy to point out the sections that have rocks some
day, if you want? I've done a lot of skiing & driving on that lake!
Let me know if so or if you have any other questions.
Give me a ring; dtn 264-4304 x7102 (hrs: 11-3 M-F)
Take care & good luck!

| Jeanne,
My sister & brother-in-law live on the Amherst side of Baboosic & are
big time skiers, so if you ever need a 3rd person - I'm sure they'd be
available. My husband wanted to ski every day, so finding a 3rd person
became a problem on occassion.
Good luck,
Sonia

Sonya (and Charlie),
You guys didn't tell me Baboosic Lake was where they film
"Northern Exposure"!! :>) There is a local moose that
likes to takes daily swims in the lake! I hope I don't
ski over him someday!
Also, this is "Nautique" country....last night there were
6 Ski Nautiques at the local dock, we're feeling right at
home! I'm also impressed with the talented skiers on
this lake, we had a trick skier in tow last night who performed
backwards deep water starts on the slalom trick, as well as
360's, 180's, toe-holds, backwards wake jumping, I've got
me a teacher!

| Jeanne,
The Moose be BooWinkie and the Muskrat be Muskie. The Moose is the BIG
one and he stay's close to shore. Now Muskie doesn't see too good and ya
gotta watch out for him. He's right friendly but can get "testy" if ya
was to disturb his swimmin stroke with your bateau.
If there's only six of them fancy bateau's you call NAWWTEEK's then the
boy's must be trading up. Usually about TEN of them on the lake. The
Severance's in the Log Cabin have a yellow and black one and your
neighbor at "Kick-a-minit" Lodge has a ORANGE one.
Glad to hear your enjoying the lake. They'v been doing some "Hydro-Raking"
and the water's a little "seedy" looking right now. Takes a few days to
settle down.
Hope you guys remembered the "hammers"...
Enjoy the lake,
Charlie
