One winter project has been to raise the driver's seat in
"Corrective Action". "CA" is an '87 Nautique and in 1987 Correct
Craft designed the dashpod for rather tall drivers. It was
subsequently lowered for '88.
Upon contemplating this project the thought of an electric
seat mechanism dawned on me. Well...
After a visit to the local "auto recycling" yard, I found that
the Chrysler electric seat mechanism was only about 1 inch taller
than the standard seat runners in the boat. A few new holes in the
existing seat base, a couple of modifications to the Chrysler seat
mechanism and voila!
I still need to run the wiring and I'm hoping I can just go thru
the floor into the existing harness which runs somewhere under the
seat. Also I haven't found a good spot for the 6-way switches, which
would be out of the way and possibly somewhat dry.
Rick .... Toys, Toys, Toys....
Any ideas on keeping this beast from rusting other than a heavy coat
of grease?

Hey Rick, Good work, you junkyard dog you! Ideas for preventing rust: - Electrical connections & wires, coat them with "Liquid 'Lectric Tape". It's a liquid black rubber compound that's brushed on and leaves a non-conductive waterproof seal. I use it everywhere, especially on the trailer connections. - Metal parts, motors, etc., spray with a clear lacquer or polyurethane. - Tracks, gears, etc., use OMC Triple Guard grease, the best stuff there is. Now, when does the ejector seat go in on the passenger side? 8^o Rick | |||||

Keep it in the garage like mine.
