948.0. "Marine flea market" by BTOVT::JPETERS (John Peters, DTN 266-4391) Thu Feb 13 1992 15:46

A friend of mine in Maine refers at times to a "marine flea market"
that happens sometime around March each year in Portland. Anyone know
of this, and, if so, details of time and location this year?

The Maine Boatbuilders Show, from March 20 through the 22nd in
Portland should have a flea market run by the Maine Maritime
Academy. The show was great last year! Phone Portland Yacht
Services at (207) 774-1067 for details.

The New England Charter Boat Captain's Association (something like that) is
having their annual flea market in Glouster, at the Elks, on 15-Mar-1992.

	Re .1>

	Rick,
I called Portland Yacht Services and they sent me some
info on the Maine Boat Builders Show. It sounds great, kind of a
low key, high info transfer show. It also coincides with the
	Portland Boat Show.
Some of the exhibiters, besides numerous builders, are
Gougen Bros (West System), Interlux, Pettit, Sterling Paint, U.S.
Paint Awlgrip etc. I bet you could pick up a lot of info on
maintenance as well as looking at new, custom built boats.
I think I'll talk to the wife about a weekend away from
	the kids.

It sounds like a good show. For sure, the one thing i have always
had a problem is getting info on maintenance items.

I have used the Interlux line of paints for yrs. Maybe one of
the reasons is the 800 info. no. they have. I'll admit, its
getting better, but the only other way to get info was to find
    a user...
