Does anyone know what 1.5R means when it is seen stamped on a
Mercruiser outdrive?? Does it mean its a newer "Alpha One" series?
What are the improvements?? Are the gear ratios all the same?
I'm being told that the outdrive on this 1980 boat was swapped because
the shaft in the older ones was a little weaker and had a pin that
could break (which it did). Any input appreciated!
