841.0. "Portsmouth Boat Co. recommendations?" by 57523::JDREW () Tue May 21 1991 08:57

    I'm looking at moving to a little bigger boat and saw a boat to my
    liking this past weekend. It's from a small boat yard in Seabrook N.H.
    named Portsmouth Boat Co. Inc. The boat I'm interested in is their 22
    foot Bass Boat that looks like a mini Dyer Sports Fisherman. Has anyone
    heard of these guys? Any inputs on the boat?

841.1Looks like a nice boatGOLF::FSMITHTue May 21 1991 09:248
    I saw their 22 at the Bayside Show back in February. I believe they
    also build a 29 or 30. They have been advertised in Offshore. It looked
    like a fairly well made 'classic' bass boat. Give me a call if you want
    to talk more. There are some others similar such as the Angler 22 from
    Tripp Marine and a 23 made in Maine from a Wilbur hull. DTN: 234-4793.

841.4where's tripp marinePENUTS::GORDONTue May 21 1991 13:386
    Where is tripp marine? I have a 22' angler and would like to find a
    local dealer to ask questions/service. The dealer this boat was bought
    from no longer sells them and is somewhere around Worchester.

The Tripp Angler is made by F.L. Tripp and sons, on Cherry & Webb Lane in
Westport, Mass. Easy to get to: get to I-195 which runs east-west from
Providence, RI to New Bedford or so, crossing North Westport; off 195 in
Westport you take Rt. 88 south, and as soon as you cross the bridge over
the East Branch of the Westport River (about fifteen miles from 195, more
or less), hang a right and follow your nose to Tripp's, about a half mile
down on the right.

You should know, though, that there was a boat made for a few years by a
totally unrelated company in Florida that was also called "Angler".

841.6I have the Fla version.PENUTS::GORDONTue May 21 1991 13:545
    Thanks for the info, I have the Florida version. Not a bad boat but
    I would buy something with a deeper 'v' the next time.
