Chart Link
I have been looking at the various Chart Link units over the past year
and am seriously considering getting one. I am looking at the
Micrologic unit that will tie in with my 8000S..Have any of you had
experience with these.??.Are they as convenient and easy to use as they
appear..??..Are they as accurate as they claim..?..Any info is
appreciated.

The electronic chart machines I have seen use either an internal
loran or you connect your external loran to them. They are only as
accurate as the loran. They also cannot see other boats or obstructions
Lorans can be off by 100 or more yards so I don't see how you could
be sure your in the exact posistion that it says your in.
The other problem I've seen wit them is that there charts don't
contain as much information as paper charts.
