| Chatham has some slips but a lot more moorings. I've used Outermost
Harbor Marina for the past two years. I rent a slip from the owner
of the cottage we rent. At 32' I dont know how many places OMH would
have - and its pretty spartan. The water can be pretty shallow around
there and the break at Nauset can be wild. - how much water does the
boat draw ?
I think he'd be better off outside Pleasant bay. I suggest he call
Stage Harbor Marina. The area has deeper water, more facilities and the
tides and channels are simpler - at least to me. There are two other big
marinas in Chatham but I cant recall their names.... call the chamber
of commerce.

| I spent the weekend at Chatham and thought I'd post a quick update on
the Nauset break and pleasant bay.
short story: things have changed - a lot.
The break is still in the same position but the
channel leading out to monomony/stage harbor has
shifted towards the light. It looks as though you
could easly walk out at low tide. My boat is far
too little to venture out through the break, but it
still looks wild.
The fish pier is really 'sanded' in. Very strong
current/tide in that area. I swung by
as the tide was going out and saw channel bouys
high and dry.... I didnt try to make it in.
There are new 'islands' in lots of places, and new
bars passing between Strong Island and Nickerson
neck. Ryders cove and Round cove are clear with
good depth. Pleasant Bay and the 'narrows' to
little pleasant bay are clear as is the channel
up to the head of bay. I didnt notice as many
changes north of Strong Island and we didnt go
down past the break to Stage harbor/monomy etc.

| Thanks for the update on the area. As I did last year I planned to observe the
area of the break from the overlook at Chatham Light at low tide just to get an
overall impression of changes before trying to operate the boat in that area.
It is easier to see the way out of a maze from above than within it.
If we are talking about the same Round Cove (in Harwich on Pleasant Bay) the
entrance was dredged out I found out. *After* I went through hell getting in
and out of there last year.
