442.0. "FINES in N.H." by TRACTR::KOLADISH () Wed Jul 19 1989 17:26

My sister was fined $32.50 for not having a horn or whisle with
her when using her JET SKI.
She was told that ticket goes on her driving record as a
speeding ticket. Is this true . I have never heard of this before.

Sounds like Mr. Maucho (in a police uniform) trying scare tactics.

I'd buy defective equipment, but not a speeding ticket since there is
no way it can be written up as such on the ticket. If it was, somehow
written up as a speeding ticket, fight it!

Just got off the phone with DMV in Concord, NH and they
stated that if the boating ticket is unpaid then it shows
up on your automobile driving record. They also stated that
the boating ticket would remain the type originally written,
ie: No horn = defective equipment....

Speaking of Gestapo tactics.... This past weekend on
Province Lake, I took the crew for the "booze cruise". There
were 4 adults in the Nautique and 3 kids (ages 9-15) in the
paddle boat being towed behind the Nautique. As we *idled*
around the lake the local water cop pulls up and states,
"technically that's waterskiing and you can only have two
people back there. I'd prefer that you didn't do it at all,
BTW I'm glad to see they're wearing life jackets".

Obviously, he had nothing better to do with his time!
Good thing he didn't see the pyramid we did later... :-)

    Rick

Sounds like you got out of a close one! Do they have the law
in NH in which the Driver of a boat "CANNOT" be caught drinking?

Down here in S.C. That's the law! The passenger CAN drink, but
the driver cannot! What a law Huh?

    later,

Yes, indeed Nh does have such a law, it's called BWI, but so
far it's rarely enforced unless the driver is acting like an idiot.

Sorry but it sounds to me that the same people who complain about the
number of idiots out on the water find it a nuisence when their caught
    doing something illegal.

       Who's complaining?

I comply with the Law! I was just wondering if NH had the same
    laws!
