| Meredith Marina 603-279-7921 @Meredith rents Bayliners (+ others?). I
have no idea how their rates are, but they do maintain thier boats
quite nicely. This is where I bought my used 17' Bayliner.

393.3 | Private Boat Rentals on Winnipesaukee | WRLDYD::BYRNE | | Tue May 23 1995 15:39 | 13 |
| Anyone know of people renting their boats on Winnipesaukee?
I am spending a week in July and would like to have a boat for
the entire week (july 22-29). I have called the rental places, but
spending $1000 a week for a boat rental is a little steep for me.
Any information would be appreciated.
thanks

| Jim, there is a marina near Weirs beach. I think its called Thurstons.
I know they rent boats. You should figure about $100/day. Give or
take. I think they require your first born for a deposit. 8^)

| Jeff, thanks for the info. I called Thurstons and their rate is
210/day, plus a first born for deposit. ( a little expensive for me).

Jim,
Renting a boat from a private party might be a tough sell.
Just the liability to the owner should something happen would be
enough to scare me, not to mention the fact that I'd think long and
hard before I'd let anyone take my boat beyond my sight.
I would think you might have better luck just finding someone
that you already know and getting out on the lake with them.

| Rick, I understand all your points from first hand experience. I owned
a boat for five years and was reluctant to let it out of my sight as
well. However, I thought there might a kind and generous soul out there
that has a boat on Winnipesaukee that they were not using for the week
of July 22-29 that was interested in making a some money while the
boat was idle. I would certainly subject myself to any reasonable
criteria that the owners would want to stipulate. If not, I guess I
don't get to see the big lake.

Have you considered a canoe? During the week, especially, you could do
lots of exploring. The price would be a lot more reasonable.

| A cruise on the mailboats is very good too. There's the
"Sophie C" and the "Doris E".
I think one is out of the Weirs and the other Meredith (maybe).
We enjoyed the mailboats as mych as the Mount and and less $.
There are also dinner cruises on the Aishling out of the Weirs.
