350.0. "Skiing - 1922 thru Today" by ARCHER::SUTER (Gentlemen, start your *marine* engines!) Tue Apr 25 1989 10:06

The most recent "Water Skier" (the AWSA publication) is
the 50th anniversary edition and contains some great pictures
    of old-time skiing.

Those boys skied on skis that ten of us could ski on today,
some close to twice their height and damn near as wide.

Super pictures of old ski boats (a 1961 ad for Correct Craft,
near and dear to some of our hearts! Hi Rog..) and a nice sexist
ad for Mastercraft contribute to fill about 15 pages. The MC ad
reads "...and the boat must be beautiful so the wife likes it..."
I guess that might lead to "What wife; er ah wake?".... :-)

If someone is not an AWSA member and would like to see this
issue, either stop by CHM or send your Mailstop, I'd be glad to
    lend it out.

    Rick,
Haven't got that issue yet, but was there a picture of the guy
skiing behind the amphibious biplane? I have this picture somewhere,
in an old Wski mag, but have yet to find it. He was (supposedly)
the first person to waterski, and the aeroplane was the fastest
    watercraft at the time.
    Doug.

Yes, but it's only a picture of him standing in front of
the plane, not skiing..... I think his name is Ferguson.....
