I've just purchased a house on a lake in Western Mass, an I am building my own dock. I'd like to install a "boat cradle" (not quite sure of the proper name for these) - i.e. a structure with straps that slide under the bow and stern of the boat, with a cranking mechanism to pull the boat out of the water. My question is twofold: 1 - Does anyone know from whom these can be purchased? 2 - Alternatively, I was thinking of building my own. Does anyone know where I can find plans for such a thing? The only part about which I am uncertain is the mechanism to crank the boat out of the water. I'm not sure how I would get equal tension on the four lines. Any ideas? Thanks. Tim

You are reffering to davits (sp). I am not sure where to buy them but I am sure it depends on how big your boat is. Capt Codfish

I may have found what you want. There is an company that sells a boat lift powered by home water supply pressure. It looks like trailer bunks on a frame. The lift capacity is listed as 2,000 - 10,000 lbs. Aquua-Lift 7502-116th St. E. Puyallup, Wa 98373 (206)845-4010 Fax (206)848-9038
