Powerboat magazine is a good source of schedules and news items.
It's published by Bob Nordskog out of California, and covers high
    performance boating in general.

There were 4 or 5 races canceled this year due to a lack of race
and boat sponsers. Miami, Syracuse, Las Vegas were amoung those
canceled. Circu Circus, Pringles and Oberto are not sponsoring
    boats this year.

Sens me mail if you'd like more info bout the unlimiteds or local

Note: Please no comments on the " ALL CAPITAL LETTERS", I personally
prefer them when it comes to reading directions while driving.
TAKE RT. 495 NORTH OR SOUTH TOWARD LOWELL.
TAKE THE EXIT FOR THE LOWELL CONNECTOR,
STAY ON THE CONNECTOR TILL YOU SEE AN EXIT SIGN THAT READS
        THORNDIKE STREET, TAKE THAT EXIT.
(YOU CAN ONLY GO IN ONE DIRECTION AT THE END OF THE EXIT)
ONCE YOUR OFF THE EXIT GO STRAIGHT (derrr)
AFTER THE 2ND SET OF LIGHTS TAKE YOUR FIRST LEFT (LEFT TURN
SIGNAL LIGHTS ONLY) THIS WILL BE FLETCHER ST.
GO TO THE END OF THE ROAD (ABOUT 3/4 MILE) AND TURN LEFT.
(I BELIEVE THERE'S A GULF STATION ON THE CORNER TO YOUR RIGHT)
        THIS WILL BE PRINCETON ST.
AT 1ST SET OF LIGHTS TURN RIGHT.
(THIS WILL TAKE YOU OVER THE MERRIMACK RIVER)
        THIS IS SCHOOL ST/MAMMOTH RD.
AT NEXT SET OF LIGHTS TURN LEFT AND YOU CAN'T MISS IT.

To get back to RT495, turn directions upside down.

	Rick,
Since it will probably be after 1:00pm, I hope there is enough parking for
the car/trailer and the boat at the race.
BTW, how is the ramp???? I hope it is smooth enough for a car, I
would not want to need 4WD once the boat/trailer are in the water......
Down river??? On the right, but is that the way the water is flowing
 also??? Just wondering.......
	Norm
ps: I'll be in a white/blue runabout/outboard. Yours will probably be easier
     to spot though....... ;-)

.... Opps, got carried away! Seriously, quite often it's
tough to tell which way the river is flowing, especially if there is a good
wind blowing up river.

Yeah, the races were great fun to watch. It's just amazing
how fast those 5 liter boats are! 160 MPH... yee ha...
Even more fun to watch are the Jersey skiffs. They almost
are the same configuration as a Nautique, except the hull is really flat from
about the Nautique's chine on down and the driver & passenger sit
in the aft section of the boat. These are squirrelly boats! One of
them showed just how squirrelly by crashing into another boat's wake
on the downswing and smashing a huge hole into the side of it's hull.
It also made a nice mountain in the deck at the impact point.
