   Dear Santa,

     I have just one request, I've been very...very...very...very....very....
very...good this year, really! - so could you bring me;

                   SUMMER!!  (88 degrees please)....

    Thanks and while you're at it, just a couple of other things,

         1989 Master Craft or Nautique (whatever is in stock)

         A dock with a house nearby to leave this new boat at,

         And one years' worth of trick lessons with Cory Pickos.

Thanks Santa,
Jeannie Marie

220.1Hi Santa! o{:^)>>SETH::WHYNOTThu Dec 15 1988 09:3316
    Dear Santa,
      I've been a REALLY good boy this year, and I'm not asking for
    tooo much. Could I please have...

      1000 gallons of boat gas.
      Everything in the Overton's catalogue.
      Everything in the Ski Limited catalogue.
      Everything in the Bart's catalogue.
      A Lake Renegade...never mind, I'll ask for that next year...
      1000 more gallons of boat gas, oil and filters.

      But mostly, could you PLEASE talk my wife into letting me go on
      a ski trip (to Florida) with the guys??

    Thanks,
     Doug.

    	Oh Jeanne Marie I've looked over my list of good girls
    and your name is not on it. I'm not sure why. Did you do
    anything wrong this year?

    	And as for you Mr. Whynot.... you dare ask for all those
    Christmas presents AND have your wife allow you to go skiing.
    Isn't that a bit much?

    	Now you kiddies should learn a lesson for next year and act
    more like that good little boy by the name of Rick Suter. He
    was soooo good this year that I'm giving him everything on his
    list to include:

    		A new loaded Chevy stepside pickup with a V8.

    		1989 Nautique (Hey come on his is 2 years old!)

    		The Exxon Corporation

    		A new snowmobile so he can come visit me

Merry New Year and Happy Christmas

        Santa

    BTW: Jeanne Marie I'll see what I can do about your request for
    summer.
220.3Please Santa?MYVAX::MICRO_AThu Dec 15 1988 11:0111
    I've been quite good this year..........

    A Magna XL and some gas, is that too much to ask for????

    Magnus (XL?)

220.4Not on the list!DONVAN::DECAROLISRaise a Racquet! - Play TennisThu Dec 15 1988 11:3112

        Elf Suter....are you still upset with me for taking you up too
    fast on the kneeboard? Geez, you did say "hit it".... and hit it
    I did.... wasn't expecting all that power and I did slow it down
    right away...course by then, I noticed your arms had left your body.

       I'll never do it again, I promise!

    Jeanne Marie

    p.s. And how come every year YOU get to be Santa's helper!~ :>)
220.5Just a few things Santa!ROGER::GAUDETSki NautiqueThu Dec 15 1988 12:2932
    Baby Roger has been very good too. My list to Santa includes:

    	1989 Ski Nautique (this is a popular one this year!)
    	Barefoot boom
    	Dry suit
    	Parasail

    Not too bad this year considering Doug's request for the ENTIRE
    Overton's, Ski Ltd. and Bart's catalogs. BTW Doug, if they ship
    you any duplicates I'll be glad to take them off your hands! :-)

    Jeannie Marie, the reason Rick gets to be Santa's helper is because
    HE'S the moderator. If we don't let him be Santa's helper he's
    liable to take his notesfile and go home! :-) Hey, why don't you
    ask Santa for a week of ski lessons at whatever ski school (if any)
    Cory trains at? And while you're at it you can take a day of driving
    lessons so that you don't yank people's arms out anymore! :-)

    Elf Suter, I think your request for a 1989 Nautique is a bit much.
    You already have a relatively new boat. Tell you what, since I'm
    still plodding around in my '65 Mustang I'll get the '89 Nautique
    and we can use MY boat next season for all the gumballs! How's
    that for a deal?  :-)

    Magnus, great Christmas card! Not a bad photo if I do say so myself!
    I hope Santa brings you your Magna XL or Magna Competition! You'll
    need a top-of-the-line kneeboard for your 50 mph runs! :-)

    Happy Holidays to everyone! May you get everything you want.

220.6A bittersweet story ... beware of customer numbersROGER::GAUDETSki NautiqueFri Dec 16 1988 13:0329
    Well I can take one item off my list, the boom. Santa is definitely
    bringing me one for X-mas but my wife is not a happy camper. Overton's
    ruined the surprise. She called them about a month ago to order
    the boom. The mistake she made was using my catalog and giving
    them MY customer number. So yesterday I get this letter with the
    Overton's logo on it. I'm all excited thinking maybe I won the
    Ski Nautique (then I came back to earth and realized that contest
    entries are accepted through today 12/16). Fat chance! Anyway,
    I open up the envelope and there's a receipt for the boom, in MY
    name, with my wife's name in the "shipping address" box and her
    charge card number on the bill! The boom was delivered to a completely
    different address (even a different state) but they sent the bill
    to our house with MY name as the recipient. The strangest thing
    is that I've ordered from them many, many, many times and I've NEVER
    received a separate bill from them, not for back ordered things,
    never. They ALWAYS sent the bill inside the package. My wife bought
    me a Hydroslide from them and the bill came in the box. I never
    knew about it. Just one of those things I guess.

    So there's a lesson here, if you ever drop STRONG hints to your
    respective other half about ordering something from a catalog be
    sure to be clear about who gets the bill, etc. I'm excited about
    receiving the gift but I am disappointed that I had to find out
    this way. And my wife is bummed out that it won't be a surprise
    on X-mas day. But she'll get over it, and so will I!!! :-)

    Happy holidays! Is it spring yet?

    	Ah yes there really is a Santa!!! Boom Boom....

    	Is this boom going on the Mustang? If so, you have a skinny
    tow pylon don't you, like Daze? Might have to make some mods....

       Good Deal, Roger! Betcha can't wait for ice-out. You'll have
    to give us a barefootin' on your fingertips demo at next year's
    gumball (easily done with a boom, right!)

              Merry Christmas!!!

220.9Days get longer after Wednesday!ROGER::GAUDETSki NautiqueMon Dec 19 1988 12:0416
    RE: Rick

    Nope, I've got the thick pole. I installed it myself about 4 years
    ago so by that time they were using the larger ones. Thus the boom
    should fit nicely!

    RE: Jeanne

    You'll have to give me a few tries on the "fingertips 'footin'"
    demo...I haven't quite got to the REAL looney tricks yet! :-)

    I told my wife that since I knew about the boom maybe she should
    go out and buy me something else (like the boat) that I don't know
    about. She didn't go for it! :-) I'll settle for the boom.

220.10Santa - talk to Roger !BUSY::DAVIDGeorge P David, DTN 296-5403Wed Dec 21 1988 12:484
    Santa will you arrange some 5:30 AM skiing on Roger's Boom at
    Quinsig this coming Spring ? Frankie is selling his boat to
    buy furniture for his new Condo, so we may not be able to go
    footin on a boom this year.
220.11It fits! Let's go!ROGER::GAUDETSki NautiqueTue Dec 27 1988 14:156
    Hey George, no problem. I sized up the boom yesterday and everything
    looks fine! All I need is a place to put the boat up here and we can
    use mine (although it's not as quiet at Frankie's). Maybe be can
    paddle out to the middle of the lake before starting up :-) ...
