Kevin, Did you have a bad experience or something and someone
came to your rescue and treated you like a king?

Well, not exactly. But I have run out of gas on the lake and had
someone tow me in. The lake isn't that big and I live there so it was
no big deal. I just wanted to let other noters know that I was
willing to help.
BTW, if anyone wants to stop by and give me a cold beer, that's
ok too. 8-)

Kevin,
Sounds like an offer too good to pass up. Where is the lake and
how do I find the launch?

I had a feeling that the cold beer part was going to get more attention
than the assistance part....8-)
Directions to Lake Mascuppic
Tyngsboro is located off Rt 3, just south of Nashua N.H.
From Rt.3 north or south, take the route 113 exit for
Tyngsboro/Dunstable. At the end of the exit ramp, follow the signs to
Tyngsboro.
Follow route 113 to a set of lights. The Tyngsboro bridge is directly
in front of you; the Shurfine market is on your right. Proceed over
the Tyngsboro bridge.
After the bridge there is a fork in the road. Bear right at the fork.
This is Shurburne Ave. You stay on Shurburne Ave for a couple of
miles. You are looking for Willowdale Rd, which will be a left turn.
There may or may not be a sign. You will see the following landmarks:
- Public golf course on both sides of the street
- Notingham St, which will be on your left
- Cochran Rd on the left with a house up on a hill.
WILLOWDALE ROAD, which is what you want.
*If you see a street on the left called Bridal Path Way
and a big red barn, you have just passed Willowdale Rd.
Take a left on to Willowdale Rd. and follow to the end. The name of
the street changes to County Rd as you cross the line into Dracut, but
the road stays the same. As a landmark, St Mary Magdalene church is on
the left.
At the end of what is now County Rd, take a left onto Tyngsboro Rd. 50
yards up Tyngsboro Rd is a left turn for the public boat ramp.
Lake Mascuppic is 209 acres and is only 10-15 feet deep in most
parts. There are two notable underwater rocks; both are marked
with barrels.

At 3 pm on Sat I'll be at the jam session being run through the MUSIC
notes file. I probably won't get back till 5 or so. (BTW, if the
weather is good, the lake will be mobbed at 3.)
But, I'll be there all day Sunday and y'all are more than welcome
to stop by!
Most of my friends who ski go out Sunday morning (9 ish) before the
lake gets too crowded. I personally am a beginner as far as skiing
goes, but there are some talented folks around (IMO).
If any of you ski fans want to make the trip some Sunday, I'll round
up the usual local suspects.
