Hi Valerie,
I don't know of a 'travel agent' that specializes in this but some of
the tour companies that I've seen brochures from do attempt to offer
this service. In fact some of them said that if you sign up for a
match and they don't find you one, you get to have the room to yourself
at the cheaper double-occupancy rate!

Club Med specializes in 'singles' vacations. They do not
pair you up with someone specific, but you're apt to meet
alot of great people.

| That would be an idea for my screwed summer vacation plans. With not having
received the Green Card yet I can't go to Germany as planned. Maybe
Club Med is a neat replacement.
Thanks for the idea, Terrie

| Alot of cruise lines also accomodate singles by trying to match them
up with a compatible single. They look for age, sex, smoking preference
and ?? If they don't find anyone, you don't have to pay the supplement.
Sounds lkie a decent way to go!
As I recall, there used to be an agency called "singleworld" that
specialized in trips for singles. Ask in the singles notefile too, they may
have more info!

| Just last month I looked into a Colorado tour (which I have not decided if I
will go on) that offers roommate matching for singles. The thing that scares
me about this deal is that you have no way of meeting your roommate in advance.
And if you meet your roommate on the first day of the trip and realize you
don't get along with him/her, you are S.O.L.
There are only 2-3 match criteria on the forms, such as gender and (non-)
smoking, that the agencies use for matching.
I would be interested in a tour roommate matching service that allows the
prospective roommates to meet each other before the travel arrangements are
finalized. Is there such a thing? I also would be interested in singles tours
within the U.S. that are cheap. I am not interested in cruises, and Club Med
is way too expensive for me.

| Valerie, why do U need an agency to travel? Alone, U can go anywhere U
want. This way U'll be able to make some unwaited hollydays like I did last
year. This WE I've writen a poetrytalking about this. It will be specially for
U, for Martina and all the friends who dream to go away.
