Hello BenJ, don't think nobody cares for your birthday, we do.
Try to stay on the Internet when your job is done and put your

| Hello Bob!!!!
;)
Your statement shows an appropriate deal of practically, but,,,,,
I need an inspirational environment to write poetry. ;)
Sometimes I feel like it when sitting at home, in my wingchair, with
my notebook on my lap in the middle of my 2 tower speakers.
That's mostly in the evening when I'm exhausted after a busy day.
And..... sometimes I feel like needing a different environment
to get the inspirational flow going.
Poetry involves a huge portion of feelings. Feelings need
association to be triggered. And I can enhance my associative level
when creating an environment of high sensory input.
;)
In English: I go to Boston to ly in the sun and watch eg the boats
on the Charles, the people interacting, the clouds, the city's
heartbeat. Then I write.
;)

259.42 | Good description of "Inspiration"... | ANNECY::BALAS_B | Someone, somewhere, somehow, and me... | Fri Jul 07 1995 09:35 | 15 |
| re -1
As for me...
"Inspiration" come sometimes when U don't expect it... U take your
pencil, a peace of paper and U begin to write rhymmes, words which seem to have
been created to be together... Something very important for me, I have to be
alone to write, I must be completly relaxing to just let my mind fly.
I've tried to force me to write when I was in a specific place, but it
didn't work everytime. For sure when I feel something important with a girl, I
can easily write without very good conditions. One last thing: Autumn is the
best season for me to write. When the sky is grey, when the rain falls down on
me, my melancholic side reappear...
Dans de mauvaises conditions aujourd'hui, BenJ. ;)

I don't write anymore. I used to write scads of poetry....more than
one poem a day for many years. Sometimes I'd write them on napkins in a
restaraunt and then leave them behind for the waitress to pick up with
the tip. Actually had one waitress save it and return it to me the next
time I visited the restaraunt! Threw most of my poems out, but I've
saved some of the more special ones.

| Hello Chico,
why did you throw your poems away???? Each poem is a witness of a
special way of feeling, a special point in time. Each poem
represents a portion of yourself, expresses your very essence in
that very moment. Don't throw them away.
I never do. I even have kept the first one I did..... when I was
10 or 11. A funny blackhumour thing about divers eaten by a shark.
It has only 5 or 6 lines, but..... it is a leftover of a special
fun time in my childhood.
I don't write many poems. I have about 20 or 30 now. That day in
Boston was an exception. I tried to experiment with different
styles and wrote 3 poems with normal everyday's conversational
terms plus the fun thing "Almost Eleven". That's why I could do
so much on 1 day. Normally it takes me several days for 1 poem.
Expressive highly lyrical sophisticated paintings of words take
time.
;)

re: why did I throw my poems away?
Well, alot of them were very dark (and I'm not talking color here),
written during some very unhappy times. They had served their purpose
of giving me a vent and allowing me to put my feelings down on paper.
It is quite disconcerting to read those same words now. I had an offer
to publish some of them, but I turned it down.....
