194.0. "Motorcycle riders Unite!" by MILPND::J_TOMAO (Life's a journey not a destination) Wed Mar 23 1994 18:00

Well I got to meet a few ::FRIENDS riders through this conference a
couple of years ago, Hi /gina and Neal!!!! So let's post information
about runs, benefits or just lunch time rides here.

BTW, >M< when my riding partner and I first split up I didn;t like to
ride alone - but now that I've done it often I trulky enjoy it...there
are some days I would just liek to jump on the biek and head in no
particular direction - stop when I want where I want and for however
long I want. I also can ride "freestyle" and not worry about my riding
partner(s) misinterpurting hand motions or sudden moves.

I agree, riding alone can be great fun! I've never had a riding
partner and have done all my long rides solo. Hopefully I'll be able to
lay my hands on a motorcycle when I need it this summer (my brother
will have my Ninja and my father-in-law has a Honda Magna 700cc that's
in nice shape). I love to ride, but the expense of owning a
    crotch-rocket is killing me!

Guess I better send in my registration , huh???? So, I keep
forgetting to send it in.... Oh, well.

Now maybe I'll get motivated to ride it more this year. I can be
such a wimp sometimes..... But I do like to *buddy* ride. I just feel
a little bit safer with all those crazies out there. The drivers will
come up along side of me and stare at me like they've never seen a
"girl" on a bike before, JEEZ!!!!!

And my leather matches my bike too.... Now if I could only fit
INTO my leather, it'd be all set!!!! hehehehehe I think I'll get a
pair of those leather jumpsuits for the cool evenings.... mmmm yup,
    that's what I'm agonna do.....

Now, does anyone wanna contribute to my fund? hehehehe ;^)

So, who else out there has a bike that wants to do some ridin'?

This is a good idea Jt.... maybe we'll be able to do a weekend run
sometime too. (Like I have spare time....) Well, during the DAY I
have *some* spare time.... The weeding and mowing can wait for, um, for
well, it can just wait!!!! hehehehehe ;^)

it ISN'T all that common to see a woman riding a motorcycle my
dear. I know quite a few, but the males definitely outnumber the
females. Must be a testosterone thingy....;*)

    RE: cages staring....

Yup >M< I had the same problem....people would drive by and stare so
long they would swerve at me - it doesn't bother me like it use to now
    - I'm just more aware than ever.

I have a black bike and a black leather with pink and purple beads on
it....I'll be hitting DEsjardines this week to put some chaps on
    layaway.

When it comes to solo riding the furthest I've gone is to Maine and
back and I've put thousands of mile on the back roads of western MA and
    been to Boston many times....

The longest group ride was to Washington D.C. and I've doen sevral
"Poker Runs" with hundreds of bikes.

I like to hit places like Kimball's (frozen yogurt) in westford or
PC Dreams (for clams) in hudson on lunch runs. My ex-boyfriend (he
works in SHR) use to meet at PS Dreams often - though he was hooked on
his convertables and didn't ride his bike much last year.

I've hit PC Cremes (not dreams is it?) a bunch of times when out
riding in the summer....it was especially good on 2nd shift when the
day way starting to cool off a bit.

Make sure if you're planning a ride you tell me!! :*)

I leave the house in the a.m. - I'm riding! and unles its raining I
    will ride everyday.

My bike will be on the road in 2 weeks - I'll post something here when

    people??? ;*)

I got my bike in March last year and I didn't have a car at the
time! I rode it in alot of mornings when it was under 40degF....dang
chilly coming down 290 at 6am.....brrrrrr....

I have a full rainsuit so I rode it in the rain too.....:*) One
time it was raining so hard the dang thing was almost stalling on me! I
    hate when that happens.....:)

Now here is a subject I ;like! I have my license and used to have a
Honda Four! These are rare these days I was told! It has 6 gears and
was a light engine. I have driven on a KAWA 1300, Suzuki 750 and a
one year old KAWA 1100 I think it was!

I sure wish I lived closer to you girls and I would love to go riding!
    I could be "it" too >M< !!!!!! ;-)))))))

I did ship my black leather boots, jacket and my helmet across already!
One day this boy will be buying himself his own Harley and go riding
for funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn again! ;-))))))) With all the cars
here in the Netherlands, the small roads, the bicycles in the streets
and the many mopeds, it is just kinda dangerous for the bikers here
I sure would like to go ridin' again! ;-)

O, mine would be registered 365 days a year too if I *REMEMBERED*
to send the dang thing in when I got it in November..... O, well.
I'm just not THAT organized... OK, so I'm not organized at all...
hehehehehe but at least I know where it is!!!!! (under a blanket
    	SOMEWHERE in my garage!!!!!)

I've been going through old notes to catch up on some of the background on
the comments made. Several come from "in person" situations I know but it
helps to figure out what's going on sometimes (read: I was bored and had a
few minutes to browse)

Anyway, ladies, I guess I'll stand up for my sex (don't say it!) and defend
the gawking. It isn't that we've NEVER seen a woman on a bike, it's that we
REALLY LIKE seeing a woman on a bike, especially all dressed in leather
and...(d*mn keyboard won't work when drooled on...) the wind blowing the
hair hanging out of the helmet and...

See? it's appreciation...
