I haven't the time to look through this whole notesfile for a similar topic so I'm just going to create this one. My supervisor is moving to Nevada in less than a month and she is still searching for homes for her two dogs. She's put a note in CANINE, and has called numerous places and has not had any luck. She doesn't want to leave them in a shelter that may put them to sleep but time is running out. For various reasons, she can not take them with her. Here are the specifics: Queenie - Black and white spayed female. 65 pounds, 9 years old. Part Springer Spaniel, part beagle. She likes to howl like a beagle. She knows when something/someone strange is near the house and will bark to alert you. Sheba - Black, white and tan spayed female. 45 pounds, 8 years old. 3/4 Labrador retriever, 1/4 collie. She is timid and gentle, and loves to be petted. Both dogs are strictly house dogs and don't have any street smarts. They will need to be walked. They are paper trained if they need to be left for a long period of time. They both love to sit on laps or curl up on a couch or bed. They are located in Littleton Ma. If anyone is interested, or wants more information, send me mail and I will pass it along to her. She's really desperate. These animals need good homes, and I'd hate to think of the alternative! If we can't find homes for them soon, it looks like these dogs are going to be put down (killed). Please, I hope someone can help! Dawnne

Hello ! I know that you indicated that she does not want them to go to a shelter ...BUT the NORTHEAST ANIMAL SHELTER in Salem MA does NOT destroy ANY pet , they are so picky about who adopts animals, that they find good homes for all of them. She should call them and discuss the situation , the women there seem a bit mean with people, but it's because they care about the pets and take good care of them, and they screen the potential families carefully. Good luck !! Mat

Thank you Mat but I already tried them. They won't take the dogs because of their age. They don't think they'll be able to find homes for them. And Mark, see your mail! Thanks! Dawnne

I'm back. Mark, whoever you talked to didn't get in touch with me. The dogs are in a foster home and adjusting well. We are still looking for a permanent home for them. Anyone that is interested please send me mail and I'll get them in touch with the person who has them. They are now located in Sterling, MA. |
