cherries laid in rum for 1 night before being put on..... ;)

When it comes to cake.... I don't think about dieting
anymore. ;)  Diets are for normal days. Each time I
enter a cafe or a restaurant... all thoughts about
dieting somehow vanish.
And... exercising keeps up with not putting too much
on.
Another piece, please. And a "Krapfen" with plum sauce.
That's a German donut without a hole. The plum sauce is
inside. I LOVE Krapfen.

Hi Terrie,

   you can make Krapfen on your own. My mom always does. And
   those are the best ones. Just make a normal yeast dough
   and cut it with the open end of a water glass into circles.
   Then you deep fry the thing and roll it in sugar afterwards.
   Then you insert the plum sauce in some of them using a very
   small device that is normally used to decorate cake (I don't
   know the English term for that).

   thanx for your concerns with my office hours. ;)  ;)  ;)
   You know, in Germany the worker's council (Gewerkschaft)
   gets the employer into deep serious trouble if someone
   works too long. Here in the US it is different, I can
    come and go whenever I please.
   So I left at 11pm on Friday, came back on Saturday and
   Sunday. But.... I took Sunday afternoon off .... and
   visited the StarTrek convention in Boston!!!
    That was soooo cool. I met Klingons and real Borgs.
   And even one Benzai. 
   So it was a fun weekend after all.

Evening Jackie,

There's a group around here that organizes StarTrek conventions. Their name is
something like Creation and the shows they do are "creation con(vention)s".
There are other groups that do these and there are pros and cons on which is
better. I believe the Creation Cons are better for dealers. Just having gotten
into the booth siode of trade shows, I've started picking up on this stuff.
Chris probably knows more specifics about it from his hat business.

    	A `redback' is a red-backed cute little black spider which hides on
    the underside of external toilets here.. and when you least expect it bites
    you on the b*m real hard!  They can also be found under piles of house
    bricks and the like.. but notoriously common under those toilet seats!
    In fact, some years ago, there was a hit song entitled `A redback bit
    me when I sat on the toilet seat last night' ..or some such.
    
    It so happens that Australia's best beer is named after the ubiquitous

On a chocolate note... there's a place in Worcester that has sugar free
chocolate that really tastes good. Rose picked some up for me and it didn't last
5 seconds. They said something about it having all the normal fat but not the
sugars. Tasted great to me and I was "allowed" 8^)

There is no compose function under eXcursion (= X-Windows 
application)
For all the people using x-Windows to open VMS sessions on
VAXes from Windows or Windows-NT: compose doesn't do the job.
There is the possibility to install a second keyboard and switch
between the 2 layouts via Ctrl+Leftshift, but.....
I don't know the French keyboard layout, and so.... I perhaps
will give it a shot when nobody is around to read.

Ok, here it comes, the detailed report of my "away-mission" on the
get together with the friends......
Accessing my memory files...... Processing.........

I left work very early: at 4:55pm and drove down to Alewife,
that is the outermost subway station of B-City. There I picked up
Tina and her Mom. We had a great time chatting on our way to the
Panda Wok restaurant. And we chatted..... purely in German!!!!! ;)
We arrived exactly on time, this time my drive estimations came
out correctly. When we pulled into the parking lot, there was a
black truck behind us .... it was Maureen! We went inside the
restaurant and occupied the table. We talked about how very much
Maureen misses the friends conference since her "being sold" to Quantum.
And we talked about BenJ and his poetry. I promised to send her
some nice notes. ;) And we talked about Chris and his StarTrek
"obsession". ;) Then Jen arrived. We talked about Ireland, how
nice it is there, about her several trip to Ireland. Then Wen and
her husband Tom arrived. It was great. We were all in a very
"funny" mood and were laughing a lot. We helped translating the
menu for Tina's Mom. The food was delicious. This time we took
great care in not spilling anything over the table and I did not
order alcoholics in order not to have to go through the game of
showing the wrong driver's license to the waitress again..... ;)
As a matter of fact, I asked for the beer list, and the waitress
came only up with "dish water". ;)
We devoured all the food and talked about whether it is appropriate
for me as a single woman to do a trip to Ireland alone....
Because I will end up in all these great pubs every evening.
Jen told a very funny story about how she was mistaken for being
English by an Irish chap who indulged in telling her all these great
jokes about the Americans..... ;)
Afterwards I drove Tina and her Mom back to the Alewife t-station.
And tomorrow we all 3 will depart to Canada.

	I was talking aboute the noise made by beer when U put some in a
glass... I love it! U should see the specific glass used for this beer, it's
very curious, but it's a part of this beer. When U drink it, all your sense feel
good: U see, U hear, U smell, U tuch and then U taste, U appreciate, U just
realize when your drink is empty that you're still thursty for another one...
This is a real danger, but I love dangers...
	This beer is made to be drunk in good company (esp. for me with a
girl...), it is made to help U to talk too...

    Now, anything cooling to be had in here, its been a long, tiring and

    Cake!!!! Chocolate Cake!!!!! For BenJ's farewell party.
    What a very sad occasion, no, I don't feel at all like eating cake
    now. This cake for me shows the eternity of his being with us. And
    with each little piece we evaporate a little piece of his time still
    left with us. And when the last piece is munched, then it is time
    for him to leave. So I just sit here, in front of my truely gigantic
    piece of chocolate cake and just stare at it. Try to hypnotize the
    time, try to keep the time still.
    Time is a manmade concept and so why should it be impossible to be
    stopped by man, too?
    Like anything else the effects of time show in our "normal" tridimen-
    sional continuum. So why not just "reach into higher dimensions" and
    put the time back to the point where BenJ just entered our notes
    conference? Then we forever happily without knowing could run through
    this timeloop again and again. But this also would not accomplish any-
    thing, all experience gathered at the end of 1 timeloop would be lost
    forever, because these loops are sequential and not parallel.
    So I succumb to the fact that "time moves on" and give all our
    knowledge to the new constellation. We have all his notes in here
    and BenJ has all the memories to a happy time in his life.
    And that is how it shall be forever.

	I think time is nothing. I'm gonna leave your world for a parallell one,
but I'm gonna watch U from there everyday. I won't be with U in a human presence
but I'll be there different, giving U my sunbeams, remoting U my positive
energy, helping U to change your mind and forget the problems in your life. Each
U're gonna have a trouble U're gonna be able to think that if BenJ could write
in this conference he would give U some <HUGS>!

	Three monthes here, it's short for sure. But in my small life it's been
a great experience that I won't forget. I guess I know some of your personnality
now and I think it would be great to meet U personnaly. Well, maybe one day...
I'm gonna take a piece of your cake now and eat it without any regrets. Life is
like that in planet Earth, with meetings and leavings (correct?), but life goes
on, it's everyday a begining!
