	I guess it depends on the editor you use?  When I type "rep", all
the previous text comes up for me to edit and use as I like...sorry it's a 
pain for you, but it's almost impossible to see if the word has been repeated
otherwise.  Also, it's more fun if you see the string of associations...

    when I do "rep" all I get is a split window. In the above part I can
    see the note I'm replying to, in the bottom window I hack in the text.
    What I try to do is: 
       - selecting the above text with my mouse
       - copy it.... magic magic.... to the bottom window.
    
    Only most of the time I get the stuff in a complete different layout.
    Then I have to edit around and that takes too long.
    I mostly missed the early ones.

    The cut and paste works fine most of the times.
    But ..... in here I only get screwed up tabs.
    The lines are spread over 2 lines and everything is indented
    somewhere.

    I think the trick is the command that gets TPU (the original editor
    where all the others are based on) to put the contents of the
    scratch buffer into the edit buffer.

 	Ah, the wonderful German language!  I used to get quite a kick out
of the letters my mother received from her cousins, some of the words were
almost 1/2 a mile long!!!  What is the longest word, Martina?  It's the
combination of so many words, and when you try to look them up in a German/
English dictionary they are nowhere to be found!

Uh oh...looks like I inserted my foot in my mouth again!!!! Maybe that was
part of the problem Mom had trying to look up the words!

	That's the trouble I had triing to learn German as my first language. I
made efforts to learn german grammary which is quite more difficult than french
one which is much more difficult than english one. Then I tried to get a minimum
of vocbulary to anderstand a german conversation and to be able to express
myself. The troubles are voccabulary is very hard to learn, words are very long,
constructions of phrases are very complex (verb in the end)...
	That's why I decided, after 7 years of german studiing to swap my two
languages (mean german and english) and to keep finally only englis as a foreign
language, happy to see it was more important for technics to know english and
not german.
	Well, now, I only remember a couple of german words, but it allows me to
anderstand the meaning of the few german words used by Twix in this conference...

    Please understand there are corporate policies around notes files and
    the moderators are held accountable for them being followed.
    
    One of those policies says that notes are to be posted in English or
    with translations if posted in a foreign language.
    
    Also that there is not to be profanity or other things that could
    potentially offend readers or reflect badly upon Digital.  This doesn't
    mean it is ok to swear or be offensive if you just put it in a foreign 
    language.  We're global....there are always people that will understand
    French or German or whatever or could translate the material if they
    are looking to cause a problem.
    
    The files are supposed to be fun.  By pushing your luck you're making
    it hard on the moderators and jeapordizing the use of the file by all
    of us.
    
    So..........GIVE THE MODS A BREAK!

    In notes, all i can do is cut and paste using my mouse and another
    window because the file text list is too big to fit in the few lines
    when doing a reply. If you are aware of a better way, then please share
    it. I'm not going to keep adding the entire list.

        You can use the two commands
        
        	Notes> extract/buffer/noheader notes$edit
        	Notes> reply/last/noextract
        
        and you'll end up editing one buffer already containing
        the text of the note you are replying to (without the
        header).
        
        That's a lot to type, but it is possible to put the commands
        on a key on the keypad so that just hitting one key will do
        it.

        I think the DCL command that defines keys only does so for use
        at DCL level, the so-called dollar prompt.  They wouldn't work
        in MAIL either.  NOTES has its own way of defining keys, I
        have a "notes command" file but it doesn't set up and keys and
        I don't remember the syntax offhand.
        
        Topics 66 and 232 of the OASS::VAXNOTES_INTRO notes conference
        show how to put the two command in reply 125.82 here onto two
        different keys (one command on each key).  I'd need to search
        some more to see how to combine them onto one key.

        makes the F17 key (you can edit the file to use
        the key of your choice, like PF3 or KP9) do the

    A 'Sporran' is worn by a Scotsman when wearing the kilt.
    
    When wearing the kilt there are obvioussly no pockets so it is
    similiar to a purse/wallet and is worn around the waist.
    It hange down thwe front of the kilt and is usually secured by
    a strap.the men then keep there money in there.....
    
    I dont know if that is a very good description, but it is\
