Hello Chris,

no I did not loose my marbles..... the number 4 in the 4 snarf
message which stood alone did not count as a snarf.
Only the implantation of 4s into genuine English words
   are snarfable.

;)

And this number is also snarfable,,, for its German pronounciation.

Sorry Chris, did not get quite which entry
you meant.

In my entry with "20", I was referring to the
French pronounciation of 20 which sounds like
the French word for "wine".

So I meant: "Vin et les homes sont ma vie"
Which translates to:

"Wine and men are my life."

I looked that one up in the dictionary and found 2 explanations:

   1) small thick pan cake
   2) British colloquialism for women

Which one is it????

And.... it is never fair to explain an unknown term with another
unknown one.....

14.54Thanx for the patient explanation! ;)LJSRV1::LAMBRECHTThe Spirit of BavariaFri Apr 21 1995 22:2712
Hello Terrie,

thanx a lot for the help with my language struggling.
So a "strumpet" is about the same as the 2nd meaning
   of "crumpet".
   ;)
   I like that. ;)

And: "We've the for"tune on our side, always.

;)
Martina
14.55NETCAD::WOODFORDI<--TheInfoWentDataWay-->IFri Apr 21 1995 22:4413

Actually, not quite Martina. The second explanation of 'crumpet' was
derogatory towerds women, but it's still not the same thing as a
'strumpet'. A strumpet would be more like a sleezy woman that sleeps
    around.

No problem, always abliged to help wherever I can! :*)

Why did U write so much in one day in THIS conference (I don't
anderstand the word Rathole), and why did U write so much when I was gone in WE?

	Maybe U prefer when I don't speak...
						Yours quietly,	BenJ. :(

PS: 57=3*19
19 is the begining of 1995, a very good year.
3 is the number of months that I'll stay here in Annecy (and with U)

CQFD (What I wanted to show U), everything is snarfable if U have

A rathole is a discussion that is going nowhere...usually when no one
agrees on an issue and keep arguing there side back and forth.

but it can also be a nonsense issue like we were doing in there last
    week.

    Hello BenJ,

you've got the point: everything is snarfable. ;) ;) ;)
And of course this note here as well, because of special reasons.
A rathole is also a place where things can be discussed without
restrictions, without limiting to a topic's title. And its
contents can be deleted any time.
       (Is that right, mods?)

And interestingly enough: in German the word "Rat hole" means
       "get advice".

    Yours ratholingly,
    Martina
