Hi, Does anyone know at what level the TIMEOUT (Timeout interval) parameter in ODSCL, is used when a BSTR GET VALUE NAMED command is issued. I have a customer who is issuing a BSTR GET VALUE NAMED command and waiting upto 15 minutes for a value or failure from the device. The TIMEOUT is set to 60 seconds in ODSCL. I suspect the following : 1. B* sends a request to INTERS for a value 2. INTERS acknowledges that its received the request 3. B* waits until the value is sent by INTERS. I think the timeout parameter is for the first acknowledgement from INTERS. Any Ideas ? Regards Vinod.

Vinod, the ODS TIMEOUT value *should* be handled by the DAS (INTERS, in your case). Are you sure the INTERS DAS does actually implement such a mechanism ? The fact that a timeout can be CONFIGURED by means of ODSCL does not imply that the timeout is then actually MANAGED by the DAS software at runtime. - Beppe - |
