586.0. "cigarette industry info" by QCOCAL::POOLAK (In Thrust, We Trust) Fri Apr 11 1997 07:56
Hi
I am from India. I am talking to one of the largest cigarette
manufacturing company called Indian Tobacco Company (ITC). At the
enterprise level, they have deployed MANMAN since 1990. I have talked
with them for the shop floor level and in turn on BASEstar. In that
context, I also told him about the Philip Morris case whose ppt info
are with me.
Now, the customer is interested in companies like Philip Morris and
R.J. Reynolds (their main competitor), what we have done and what role
we played and that not restricted to level-2 only. He is considering
scrapping MANMAN and going for something popular these days (like SAP).
In the level-0 to level-4 models of any plant, he wants to know our
involvements for these two companies. It will be even better if I can
get some info about those two companies what they have deployed at all
levels.
I am posting this here assuming some of the readers/writers might have
some experience in cigarette industies. I tried to put the same in
CAM::BASESTAR but the node is not reachable now.
Thanks in advance,
Poolak

The node CAM has moved to 2.301. Update your DECnet database and
you'll be able to access it again.
