Our BASEstar Group held a successful User's Conference in
Orlando, February 6 and 7. Customer attendees were evenly
divided between Europe and North America including Ford
Kentucky Truck, Peugeot, Phillip Morris, Nestle UK, Shell
Services, Toyota, Dupont, Unilever, Proctor and Gamble and ITT
Auto. Partners present were EDS, SESAM, Carotek and ABF
(integration partner in Austria, Germany and now the US).

Jim Heaton, VP Technology, AMR gave the keynote speech. He
spoke about the Agile Plant which must be prepared for
unexpected change as divisions are bought, sold and
outsourced. Future manufacturing applications must be
        adaptable to multiple ERP systems.

He also noted that most of the ERP vendors were purchasing or
partnering with advanced planning and scheduling ISV's because
of their inability to produce a home-grown product that would
be trusted at the plant floor level.

Several of the customers and partners gave excellent
presentations on what they were accomplishing with BASEstar
that no other vendor could provide. ABF showed that, using
their tools, a customer could build web-based GUI in five
minutes for viewing remote BASEstar data.

All agreed that this sharing of information was invaluable and
recommended that future meetings be held near a reference
        site.

Several customers requested that Digital be more proactive in
publicizing BASEstar and PDAS. Both have unique advantages on
the shop floor. When you close a BASEstar account, Digital
gains a 10-year customer for products and services. We will be
        actioning this request.

For more details, please contact John Egolf @ZKO.

        Regards.

    John,

Interesting and encouraging! Do you have details about the web-browsing
utility of ABF? Is it accessable to us?
