2511.0. "VB 3.0 / VSS 4.0 compatibilty." by VAXRIO::MARCIA_L () Wed Mar 05 1997 11:41
Hi,
I have a customer who is working with the following environment:
- Windows for Workgroups 3.11, Visual Basic and Visual SourceSafe 4.0
(Server installation) runing in a machine;
- Windows 95, Visual Basic 3.0 and Visual SourceSafe 4.0 (Network
installation) running in another machine.
She is having several problems to manage, via Visual SourceSafe, a
project been designed by more than one programmer. One of them is
that a programmer is receiving an error message (Out of memory) after
Check In a form (it contains a big bitmap). He works with Windows 95.
I've studied some instructions about how to install VSS 4.0 under 32-bit
operating system, to work with a 16-bit version of Visual Basic (like VB
3.0). We have to run NETSET16.EXE in order to complete network
installtion, in place of NETSETUP.EXE as usual. I really don't know if it
could be the reason of the problem. May you help me?
This error message was also occurring under the same circunstances,
but working with Windows for Workgroups 3.11. It was solved after we
changed the parameters of SHARE.EXE.
May you give a point about compatibility between VSS 4.0 and VB 3.0
or if someone has experienced some problems with them?
Thanks in advance,
Marcia
