WHAT IS IT?
     A free service available via email, the WWW, or by telephone, the SJI
Sky and Space Update provides weekly updated summary information about the
night sky, and recent events and findings in human and robotic Solar System
exploration and space science. The SJI Sky and Space Update (SSU) is
designed to provide information to adults and youths who may not have
previous experience with astronomy, planetary science, or space exploration,
as well as to professionals and amateurs who are looking for weekly-updated,
brief summary information in one convenient location.

WHAT IS COVERED?
     Regular topics include: Objects to Look for in the Night Sky (locations
and times to look for easily visible planets, moons, stars, meteor showers,
comets, and satellites, e.g., the Space Shuttle and Mir; most are naked eye
objects, while a few require binoculars or a small telescope); The Moon
(phases); Space Shuttle Update (launches, landings, mission summaries);
Planetary Spacecraft Update; Recent Planetary and Space Science Discoveries;
This Week in Space History; and a Random Space Fact. Also included are web
