Publication which I believe may be a great use to many people who
subscribe to this forum. The U.S. Space Directory is a publication
edited by Space Publications located in Bethesda, Maryland. In
addition to it being a great resource, at $79 (including postage) it
is also affordable. The following information is taken from their
promotional literature:
The U.S. Space Directory was created to provide affordable access to
detailed information on the players in the U.S. Space Industry. It
was developed with the business development manager, government
official, and job seeker in mind. Unlike other sources of
information, the U.S. Space Directory provides detailed profiles.
Companies are allotted 1/2 page to describe their structure,
specializations, prior and current contracts, products, aand
facilities. In addition the directory covers the entire spectrum of
the industry: launch vehicle manufacturers, engineering service
contractors, satellite manufacturers, flight experiment integrators,
facility designers, space insurance brokers, consultants, etc.
The 1994 edition is divided into 5 color-coded sections:
Companies
Government Agencies
University and Non-Profit Research Institutions
Educational Resources
Miscellaneous (Associations,oorganizations, publications, lawyers,
astronauts, and space memorabilia).
The Government Agency section contains detailed profiles of the roles
and responsibilities of each of the federal agencies and the
activities and facilities at each of the NASA centers.
The University and Non-Profit Research Institution contains descriptions
of the main research thrusts or programs at the institution.
The Educational Resource section contains descriptions of educational
support organizations, information sources, teacher training programs,
teacher resources, student intern programs, fellowships, scholarships,
and prizes.
If anyone is interested in ordering the directory or wants to verify
that their organization is listed, Space Publications can be reached
at P.O. Box 5752, Bethesda MD 20824-5752. The ISSN for the directory
is -- 1074-7230.
