508.0. "Advanced Manned Launch System?" by MPGS::EMMONS () Tue Feb 28 1989 20:40
In a recent article in the March issue of Scientific
American, a quick reference is made about a new
manned spacecraft for NASA called the Advanced
Manned Launch System which is currently under study.
The spacecraft is described as a fully reuseable
vehicle for carrying 6+ people into space and
would be used along-side the Shuttle and the space
plane, however no other details were provided.
Can someone fill me in on any other details?
Thanks, Ken
BTW. The article is entitled 'Access to Space' and
describes ours - as well as other nations - current
access to space and problems expected to arise over
the next twenty years. Good reading!
