423.0. "Space/SF Computer Graphics" by SNDCSL::SMITH (William P.N. (WOOKIE::) Smith) Wed Apr 06 1988 21:15

    I could have sworn I posted a note in this file, but I can't seem
    to find it, my apologies to those who have seen this stuff already:

    There are a number of sixel files at:

    	SNDBOX::DUA1:[smith.imagewise.sixel...]
    		of particular interest to those in this file
    	SNDBOX::DUA1:[smith.imagewise.sixel.space...]

    Where *.SPR is (S)ixels for (PR)inters like the LA-100 and LN03+ and
    close compatables, and *.SVT is (S)ixels for (V)ideo (T)erminals like
    the VT-125, VT-240, and VT-330 and close compatables.  I have a
    command file around for setting VT-241s (and such) up for grey-scale
    to display without false colors if anyone is interested.

    Please note that the only restrictions on these files are that they
    are not to be used for commercial gain, customer demos are specifically
    prohibited.

    Any questions or comments or other administrative details please
    send me mail at SNDBOX::SMITH instead of using reply/author.

    Enjoy!

423.1Today's notice plus administriviaSNDCSL::SMITHWilliam P.N. (WOOKIE::) SmithWed Apr 06 1988 21:2036
    There are some more new sixels at:

    	SNDBOX::DUA1:[smith.imagewise.sixel.space.jupiter]
    	SNDBOX::DUA1:[smith.imagewise.sixel.space.gemini8]
    	SNDBOX::DUA1:[smith.imagewise.sixel.robocop]

    Where, as always, the SVT files are for terminals and the SPR files
    are for printers.

    Note: Disk space on SNDBOX is getting critical again, so I've
    decided to archive the [...star_trek] and [...max_headroom] sixel
    files at some time in the near future, very probably before the
    end of the month. Please make copies of the files you want to save.
    I'll be able to bring them back if there's sufficient demand, via
    mail requests to SNDBOX::SMITH... I considered compressing the
    files and decided that it left out too many non-VMS machines, and
    I couldn't come up with a clear choice for less_popular_sixels,
    so the older ones are going first. Unless someone wants to send
    me 3 RD-53s [I can't put any more on SNDBOX until we get some more
    where we really _need_ them], there isn't going to be room for the
    old ones and the new ones too...

    Nother Note:	The files GEMINI8A.SPR thru GEMINI8I.SPR are
    a composite picture that needs to be manually cut and pasted together,
    does anyone have a SIXEL editor that could glue them together to
    make one file (that might only have to be pasted at page breaks)?
    If it would help, I can make up the files without the standard sixel
    Run Length Encoding....

    Thanks for your interest!

    Willie

423.2They're Back!SNDCSL::SMITHIEEE-696Wed Oct 05 1988 17:268
    I've recovered the archived sixels and moved everything to another
    machine, all the sixels can now be found at:

    		SNDUNE::DUA1:[sixels...]

    Let me know if you have any troubles getting to them.
