| When we were vacationing in Florida last month, we saw these
license plates on a large percentage of cars. When we visited
Kennedy Space Center, there was a counter set up where you
could order one and the sign said something like $15 of the
price would be contributed toward some kind of Challenger
memorial. I don't remember now if this is the same astronaut
memorial being planned for KSC, another structure to be
located somewhere else in the state, or some general fund
for scholarships or whatever.

| These are official Florida plates, not those decorative plates we in MA
can put on the front of our cars since we only use one plate. They are
a twist on the "vanity plates" we have here in New England (and elsewhere?)
where you get a different plate style instead of specific letters/numbers.
I think you can also get plates for your favorite university, University
of Florida or Florida State for example.
Soooo, unless you register you car in Florida...
