Syrian Cosmonaut to Visit MIR in JULY a Three man crew of Soyuz TM-3
"The start is currently planned for 22 July [1987] at approximately
0630 in the morning [Moscow time]," MIR/2 flight director Valery
Ryumin siad in a press conferance Soyuz TM-3 will dock with MIR
on the 24th of July.
Syrian research cosmonaut LT. Col. Muhammad Ahmad Faris
with Soyuz TM-3 Commnader Lt . Col. Alexander Viktorenko
and flight engineer Alexander Alexandrov will vist MIR's
crew for about a week.
The two Syrian cosmonauts are both military pilots and instructors
Faris's backup is Lt. Col. Munir Habib and the back up for the Soviet
crew will be Lt. Col. Anatoly Solovyov and flight eng. Viktor Savinykh.

Presumably that means they will jettison the current Progress tanker
sometime in the next month.
I wonder if they will rotate Soyuz's as they have in the past (i.e.
the visiting crew return in TM-2 leaving the fresh TM-3 in orbit).
