recent episode of NOVA was an interview with George Kistiakowsky (please excuse my spelling) by Carl Sagan. The interview took place in 1982 shortly before George's death. George designed the explosives that triggered the first Atom Bombs. Near the end of the interview, he makes a few comments about the Shuttle that were eerily prophetic. His comments seemed so immediate that they even subtitled the section with "filmed in 1982". The episode was titled "Confessions of a Weaponeer" and was excellent all around. In Boston, it will be repeated this Saturday (3/7) at 2pm on ch.2. / ( ___ ) /// /

Unfortunately I missed Tuesday's NOVA. What did he have to say in regards to the Space Shuttle in 1982 that was so prophetic? Larry | |||||

All means of transport are more or less dangerous, especially in the development stage (I bet an awful lot of people got killed trying to domesticate horses). Anyone any thoughts on acceptable levels of risk?. |
