69.0. "Shuttle ATLANTIS Rollout 8-26" by ISTARI::HELSEL () Thu Aug 22 1985 17:46

Following a successful launch of the space Shuttle Discovery on August 24,
1985, space shuttle Atlantis will roll out to pad 39-A on August 26. This
will be in preparation of the maiden voyage of Atlantis, the fourth fully
functional space shuttle.

Flight Readiness Firing (FRF) is scheduled to take place on September 9, 1985.
FRF is the test in which the Main Engines are ignited at the pad to see if
everything is operational, except the SRB's.

The scheduled launch date for Atlantis, assuming FRF goes off without a hitch,
is September 23, 1985.

The 23 is a Monday, which means the launch team has to spend another weekend
in the firing room. Good luck, guys.
