The next attempt to launch Challenger, aborted at T-3 on July 12, is now scheduled for July 29, 1985. Engineers must replace a valve in Main Engine 3. This is minimal, in comparison to a similar mishap in July 1984, in which the orbiter Discovery had to be rolled back to the VAB for massive repairs. All repairs to Challenger will be performed at the pad.

RATS! I will be at the Johnson Space Center in Houston all of next week, and was hoping to catch part of a mission. Oh, well, at least things won't be so crowded there. BTW, this is SPACEWEEK, and today is the 16th anniversary of the Launch of Apollo 11. Saturday will be the aniversary of the landing and walk on the moon. |
