A customer has some trouble with the fddi_config
to configure DEFPA-DA,
Similar problem has been reported in DIGITAL_UNIX notes
7742 and 5568, but no solution was given.
The customer complains that some fddi_config commands which
worked previously now fail on UNIX 4.0. The behaviour varies
with the different OS version.
the following command fails with "fta0: invalid argument"
fddi_config -i fta0 -t9
fddi_config -i fta0 -x 1
on Alpha Station 200 4/166
SRM console V6.1-2
Pal code OSF PALcode X1.46-2
OSF1 V3.2 62 alpha
the example above they gave me, happened on an AS 200 4/166 with
V3 but it appears they have the same problem under V4.0
is this problem known ?
is there any patch ? or other solution ?
I also posted this, in the DIGITAL_UNIX notes.
Any idea is welcome,

The problem is fixed with the patch below

This patch fixes a problem in which settting full duplex mode on DEFPA
using
"/usr/sbin/fddi_config -i fta0 -x1" will not enable full duplex mode.
