2216.0. "displaying SMT-Frames with tcpdump???" by KAMPUS::BRANDNER (That's noot eentiiirly aaacuuraate ...) Thu Feb 06 1997 07:51
Hi,
this might sound stupid to some of you, but....
Is it possible at all to use tcpdump to read SMT-Frames?
If yes, how?
The system is a DEC 3000/500 with a Turbochannel FDDI Adapter.
Packetfilter set correctly. Tcpdump doesn't show SMT-Frames.
I understand that SMT-Frames are very likely to be processed by the
Adapter itself and won't be made available to the system.
Regards,
Rudi

| Digital UNIX doesn't setup the FDDI Adapter to pass SMT frames to the user.
(FWIW, My FDDI driver for BSD will pass SMT frames if you set an interface
flag).

Thanks.
