Hello all... Is anyone aware of problems with DEFPA driver sets when used in high resolution terminal emulation? Please find details and symptoms. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated... Hardware - Celebris GL5100 DEFPA-UA 17" Monitor Software - Pathworks D/W V6.0 Win V3.11 DOS V6.22 defpa.dos v2.7 Matrox Millenium Screen driver Reflection 2 for Windows System boots OK. All applications work such as MS/Office etc. When a LAT based terminal emulation app is started the connection succeeds but as soon as we ask the VAX to display anything the session hangs and ultimately terminates. Windows hangs and requires cold restart. Problem minimised at screen resolution of 640/680, however still intermitent. DEFPA drivers updated which has eliminated the problem at low resolution. Is there a problem with this driver set at high resolution..? Kind regards all.... Justin Sheriff

The driver is a simple NDIS 2.01 real-mode device driver that emulates Ethernet in both packet format and size. From the driver perspective, there's no concept of what applications are running in the system or how the terminal emulation SW is configured. Have you been able to reproduce the problem using other DEFPA drivers or other adapters (eg. DE450 or DE500)? - Larry | |||||

>>Hardware - Celebris GL5100 I neglected to add in my last note that there does exist a hardware problem with the original DEFPA and Triton-based systems like the Celebris GL. There's a sales blitz that went out on this, but you can check with John Buzynski (NETCAD::BUZYNSKI) for a copy. - Larry |
