| Sorry to those of you reading this conference, I am a new user!
I incorrectly entered my own Email address in this note.
Not knowing to reply (as I have here) to my own note with a
correction, I have posted this problem twice.
please forgive!

If the user is seeing an ABEND when performing backup, we might have
already addressed the problem in our latest driver. Please ask your
customer to install:
MSM.NLM v2.50
FDDITSM.NLM v2.50
DEFPA.LAN v2.80
All three files are found in the latest DEFPA release kit (v2.70). The
kit is available in all of our electronic distribution sites. The kit
can be located on the Easynet at:
NETCAD::PCDRIVERS:[FDDI.DEFPA.RELEASE]FPKIT270.ZIP

Since this seems to be isolated to the end node, let's ignore the 900MX
for now. It's extremely unlikely that the concentrator is involved in
this failure.

Note 2072.0 DEF6X-MA / DEFPA-UA No replies

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a customer with two Prioris HX servers, 5133 & 5166 running
Netware 4.1 with 250+ users.
Recently they have installed a DEFPA-UA (PCI TPFDDI adapter).
Since then they have had several problems:-
1. "ABEND" processor exception error page fault under load
2. user session suspend and total server crash under load.
Servers can run at 100% CPU utilisation frequently
Legatto backup over the network also causes crash.
None of these problems occur when we de-grade the network adapter
back to 10BaseT.
The "ABEND" problem seems to have been corrected (or masked??) with
an initialisation string...I will find out from the engineer exactly
what it was.
Anyone know of problems with the Network kit (adapter/900MX) with
Netware?
regards
