I'm sure this has been resolved but can't find the answer after a few scans.. We want to connect 2 Alpha 2100s running VMS (6.2)and DECnet/OSI in point-point FDDI mode. The systems are configured and connected (cables crossed etc.) but refuse to "see" each other. Is this an issue of synchronisation between the two ? What needs to be done to get them talking ? I believe there used to be a bug/feature in the VMS VAX driver which caused this problem but understood it was fixed in the Alpha version... We don't (currently) have access to any FDDI concentrators etc. to make the connections between the 2 systems. Also, we wish to simulate the customer's configuration which uses GIGAswitches and supports Full Duplex operation. Your help is appreciated. Rog [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

I'd suggest checking the link light on the back of the modules to find out if they ever set. And provide output from SDA, SHOW LAN/FULL to give more information. - Dick |
