Problem Description:
Alpha Server 2100s running perfect by itself and VOD data sending
to Bejing on a T3 Circuit without any problem so far.
So we assume the server is fine.
However all the TVs found hungup starting at the PE Switch of
other side of the single mode fibre at every three to six hours.
At the time of the link fail, following symptoms were observed.
PE Switch No. Port LED Status
1 B Off
1 A Off
2 B Off
2 A Off
3 B Off
3 A Off
4 B Off
4 A Off
Following hardware has been swapped.
PE Switch 1 and PE Switch 3 with multimode PMD.
Test done:
We disconnect the PE switch 2 from PE switch 1. The TV can
run over 7 hours w/o problem.

What version of code is running on the PE Switch 900TX(s)? There was a
problem in the pre V1.1.1 code that caused a module installed in a DEChub
ONE-MX docking station and connected to an FDDI network via a ModPMD, to
disconnect spontaneously from the FDDI network.

No, I think Bill intended to say that the previous version
(v1.1.0) *before* v1.1.1 had a bug. The version v1.1.1 should be ok.

The v1.1.1 version is on the NPB web page
http://www.networks.digital.com (outside firewall)
http://npbwww.hpn.lkg.dec.com (inside firewall)
or at the ftp site

re .2
I said "There was a problem in the pre V1.1.1 code..."
---
You are running with V1.1.0. I suggest that you get the 1.1.1 image
and it will solve your FDDI connectivity problem.
