I got a probelm with fddi pci adapter installed on Alpha2100.
the following is the configuration:
openvms 6.2 on ALpha 2100 with decnet/osi
one fddi adapter on pci slot
one ethernet adapter on esia slot
the probelm is ,In ncl,When I try to
ncl>set routing circuit fddi-0 enable decnet_phaseiv true
ncl>enable routing circuit fddi-0
It return a Error-->mac address set failure.
But when I disconnect the ethernet cable from the ethernet adapter,
I did this successfully.
The fddi xmi adapter installed on Alpha8200 with the same software
configuration has no this probelm.
So is the firmware version too low to support vms or decnet/osi?

Have you also posted a note in the MVBLAB::SABLE notes conference?
This sounds like a configuration issue more than an FDDI issue, so
you're likely to get more advice in that conference.

This implies that DECnet-OSI is not configured correctly because it is trying to use the same address on both Ethernet and FDDI adapters (which is why you would have gotten the error earlier). - Dick | |||||
