I've had UTP-PMDs on order for about 6 months. Is there a shortage of material here or is something screwed up with processing my order? (This is a dec internal order; stock room to stock room transfer). The part I think I'm waiting for is DEFXU-AA FDDI TP-UTP MOD PMD As I look at the web page, I wonder if I won't be better off ordering one of the "new" part numbers that includes the UTP-PMDs.... I got the DEF6X-MA and DEFXM-AAs right away. And back when I ordered them there were was only the DEF6X-MA and DEF6M-MA (ignoring the SMF varients).

... and you'll probably wait another 6 *years* and still not get the DEFXU-AA. That device has been superseded by the DEFXU-BA. The ordering process should have a automatic translation feature that changes all -AA order requests to -BA. But since you are doing a stockroom-to-stockroom xfer, this process may not be in place. Cancel the order and re-submit it as the DEFXU-BA and you'll get better results. bill |
