Hello, An old FDDI Configuration giude (1992) talks about ANSI multimode and Low power multimode fibre. These have different physical properties, such as 2km distance for ANSI multimode and 1km for low power multimode. Can anyone tell me how this relates to our newer prducts such as the DEFPA-DA which is described as multimode fibre optic cable DAS. Is this low power or Ansi? Thanks, Jon

The DEFPA products (all optical variants) meet the ANSI Multimode PMD requirements. They will perform correctly over 2 km links. Very few low power multimode products were produced by Digital. I believe the one product that was developed is no longer available. Let me know if you need more information. Regards, Dick Kirk Network Product Support | |||||
