One of my customers (Bank of Bermuda) has been seeing intermittent
DEMFA failures. The DEMFAs they have are Rev. E08, ucode 2.0. They are
on 6 76XX and 5 64XX type systems and interfaced to
DEChub/DECconcentrator 900 equipment.
The errorlog entrties for these errors will be included below. It has
been recommended by us to downgrade the DEMFA firmware to ver 1.4
because it has resolved similar DEMFA errors we have seen but not
exactly the ones documented below. This has brought up several
questions from the customer and Field personel that I can't find
answers for.
Questions:
1. Is the recommendation correct for these errors? Again the
recommendation being to downgrade the DEMFAs to 1.4.
2. Are there any performance differences between the two versions?
3. What are the definitive known problems with V1.4 and V2.0?
4. What is the definition and impact of SMT 7.2 compliance? What does
"PMF GETs and SRFs" mean to them?
Is there a location in the net I can find releaase notes and such for
these version of firmware?

Normal transmit and receive don't use firmware (except for MOP) so there
would be no performance difference.
