We have installed an FDDI (DEFT-UA) card in our alpha 2100 vms box. We are setting up printer queues on this box. The queues that work off the terminal server work fine, but we have a number of printers that have a network card installed. The card installed in these printers is the NETjet card. They run over LAT. We can't seem to print to these printers with the network card in them. I know lat is working fine since I can set host/lat onto our other boxes. The queue constantly goes into a "stopped state" and the printer, in this case a hpIIIsi" gives an error message relating to the MIO (network card). Has anyone else run into a similar problem? Thanks Steve Young

Steve, How are you getting from FDDI to Ethernet ??? Are you using something like a DECrepeater900TM ???? A little more network information would help, please. And Version of VMS, too. Chris :) | |||||

We are running VMS 6.1 on an Alpha 2100 using an FDDI card connected to a DEChub 900/900MX fiber conncentrator module.Ethernet is supplied to these printer network cards from a 900TM module. Just a bit more info-We are also experiencing the same problems with the networked printers with XJet IV when we set up a queue on our Alpha 4000 running OSF. Thanks Steve Young |
