    We have encountered a Pathwork startup problem which the system will 
    be hunge.  When starting PWRK$NBDAEMON, the system would be hunge.  
    We have checked the PWRK$NBDAEMON_*.log file but that is an empty file.
    
    There is installed a new FDDI adapter (DETFA-DA) and this module does 
    not connected to any devices.   If this module has been removed, the 
    problem should be fixed.  
    
    Any patch for this FDDI module on Pathwork v5.0 ?

There are several Patches pertaining to FDDI and V6.1/6.2.  But you may 
want to look at a similar problem with "NT" in Note 1874.0 and also 
NOTED::ETHERWORKS Notes 893.


Basically, don't install (or atleast configure) anything that you don't intend
to initially connect to anything.  The Drivers are used to talking to and 
hearing from others.  Not being connected, can cause unpredictable results.

Sorry, I thought that a specific FDDI Patch we used recently to clear up a 
problem, might be what you were looking for, however, it doesn't pertain to 
Pathworks ....     We had recently needed the "ALPLAVC01_062".


Hope that you find the Patch.  I'll also keep my EYES open for you.
