1913.0. "Disable DC500 as Ring Purger" by DIVRDN::GELOTTI (Rick) Thu Dec 21 1995 09:24

	Need a quick answer on the method used to turn off the DECconcentrator
	500 as the ring purger. Would someone have the details of how to
	accomplish this task?

	Thanks,
	Rick

    This was answered off line....

    From:   NPSS::TAYLOR
    To:     MSE1::GELOTTI
    CC:     TAYLOR
    Subj:   DECconcentrator 500 ring purger

    You can change the ring purger through either the obm port or using
    some SNMP management tool.

    For both set the management enable switch on the management board,
    the right most switch, down.

    OBM: set a terminal to 2400 baud, connect it to the obm port on the
    concentrator. Go through the SET menu to update the purger.

    MCC: MCC> set conc 08-00-2b-xx-yy-zz line * ring purger enable false

    -or- You should be able to do manage the switch using the DEC vendor
         mib.

    DECconcentrator 500 MIBs supported - The MIBs implemented are MIB-II
    as per RFC 1213, DEC Vendor MIB ELANEXT v2.0, and the FDDI MIB as per
    RFC 1285.
