We have a customer that has a DEFAA-DA FDDI controller. The controller Intermittently stops transmitting for one to serveral minutes causing cluster transitions. The controller recovers on its own and everything is OK. Under SDA SHOW LAN/FULL shows that the controller logs hardware error code 9 and a CSR value of 606. What does CSR 606 mean. We have two identical 8400's node Scotch and node Kahlua, the problem is on node Kahlua (the busier System). We swapped the 8400 by booting each others root. The problem stayed with node Kalua, eliminating the hardware. /Ray

>> What does CSR 606 mean. Halted due to DMA error. I'd look again at the systems to see whats different. And look at the error logs for any information about the DMA error (not that the error log entry from the DEFAA would have anything but zeros, but maybe someone else saw an error on the bus and made an error log entry). - Dick |
